University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: Academic Center: Warner School of Education: Warner School of Edu Adj & GA **Salary Range or Pay Grade** $3,420 - $4,500 per 3-credit course **Description** The Warner School at the University of Rochester welcomes applicants for an Adjunct Instructor position. The appointment begins May 19, 2025 and ends June 27, 2025. This is a short-term position and will teach "ED 447-1 - Disability and Schools" for the Summer A 2025 academic session. Course Description: Prepares educators to understand and respond to the needs of students with disabilities. Examines the concept of disability in society and, more specifically, in education. Considers the historical context for special education and the institutional approach to disabilities, and utilizes that context to critically examine and discuss current educational practices, laws, and regulations for students with diverse learning abilities. Addresses the inclusion/standards debate, as well as the diagnosis, classification, and assessment of students. Introduces some strategies for working with students with diverse learning abilities in the typical classroom. **Qualifications** Applicants must have a record of excellence in both teaching and practice. Experience with online instruction and Blackboard is desired.
