Description Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong interim Controller with experience in content accounting to support our rapidly growing entertainment client in Los Angeles on a 6-8 month hybrid project beginning immediately. As part of a newer team, the Controller consultant will be responsible for the following duties: Responsibilities: - Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls. - Support month-end and year-end close, including external audits. - Work with contract management and financial compliance teams to maintain the content ledger. - Assist in migrating the content ledger from Excel to a database, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. - Prepare and post journal entries for content assets and liabilities. - Conduct quarterly content analysis based on final royalty data. - Assist with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and statement analysis. - Analyze content agreements (e.g., licensing, co-productions) to apply accounting policies. - Identify and lead process improvements, including accounting policy reviews. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. - 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in content accounting, media, or entertainment. - Experience with content assets and liabilities accounting (e.g., capitalization, amortization, royalties, and licensing deals). - CPA or Big 4 experience required strongly preferred - Experience with accounting ERP systems - Advanced Excel skills (Index Match, SUMIFS, pivot tables). - Experience with data analytics tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI). - Ability to work with ambiguity and build new processes through collaboration.
