Job Description GENERAL OVERVIEW Performs basic clinical and administrative functions to support genetic counseling and risk assessment for individuals at risk.
Essential Responsibilities - Creates and updates patient pedigrees in risk assessment software. (20%)
- Assists genetics counselors in communication of normal test results to patients and physicians. (20%)
- Administers patient intake forms and completes family histories. (20%)
- Retrieves patient MR, scans EHR, performs maintenance on genetic counseling data. (20%)
- Assists with the creation of patient education, lecture and seminar materials. (10%)
- Assists in clinical investigations by performing literature searches. (5%)
- Performs other duties assigned. (5%)
Qualifications Minimum
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred - Current or planned enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Genetics Counseling program
- Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field
