Role: Power BI Developer

Location: Hyderabad, India

Full/ Part-time: Full-Time

About the Role

As a member of Carrier’s Product Sustainability Analytics team, you will lead critical data operations and dashboard development efforts. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design scalable data models, and deliver impactful reports and dashboards using Power BI. Your work will also focus on enhancing operational efficiency through robust data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Quality and Governance: Implement and monitor data quality metrics to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Enforce data governance policies and standards.
• Data Observability and Monitoring: Develop and deploy tools to monitor data pipelines, detect anomalies, and maintain long-term data reliability.
• Data Democratization: Enable broader access to data through intuitive Power BI dashboards, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions.
• Data Modeling: Design and maintain data models that support reporting and analytics needs.
• Process Improvements: Drive continuous improvements in data handling processes with a focus on quality, scalability, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years in data engineering, analytics, or BI development roles with a proven ability to work independently toward business goals.

Skills - Data Engineering, Modelling & Governance:

• Proficiency in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools such as AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, or dbt.
• Strong SQL skills for data transformation and performance tuning, including the use of CTEs, window functions, and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar cloud data platforms for implementing data governance features like access control, masking policies, and metadata management.
• Familiarity with data cataloguing, schema design, and data lineage tracking using platforms like AWS Glue Data Catalog or Snowflake Information Schema.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, Datadog, or custom SQL-based anomaly detection.

Skills - Power BI Development & Data Democratization

• Advanced expertise in Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and enabling self-service analytics.
• Experience integrating Power BI with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) using Direct Query or import modes.
• Knowledge of DAX, row-level security, and role-based access control to ensure secure and personalized data access.

Good to have: Proficiency in Python for scripting and data manipulation is a plus.

Certifications (Optional but Valuable)

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
