Led by a Director who combines deep wine knowledge with digital sales expertise, our focus is on establishing crucial trade relationships and expanding our presence through both traditional and innovative digital sales channels. About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Wine Sales Representative to drive sales and build strong relationships within the vibrant Southern California territory. Reporting directly to our director of 2 Tier Trading, you will be on the front lines of building this exciting new channel. You'll be responsible for expanding our presence, managing existing accounts, and proactively seeking new business opportunities for our diverse and compelling portfolio of owned and agency wine brands. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a deep passion for wine, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strategic mindset for territory growth who is eager to contribute to a technologically innovative sales model.

Key Responsibilities:
Territory Development & Management: Actively identify, qualify, and secure new on-premises (restaurants, bars, hotels) and off-premises (retailers, specialty stores, chains, and clubs) accounts across Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and Riverside counties.

Sales & Account Growth: Drive consistent sales growth by effectively presenting 2 Tier Trading’s wine portfolio, understanding client needs, and providing tailored recommendations.

Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key buyers, wine directors, and business owners, becoming a trusted advisor and integrating them into our digital marketing efforts.

Product Expertise: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our wine portfolio, including varietals, regions, producers, current wine trends, and key selling points for both owned and agency brands.

Digital Adoption & Channel Growth: Actively promote and facilitate the conversion of traditional accounts to our convenient digital ordering platforms (SMS and email). Guide them through the process, demonstrate the platform's benefits, and champion the digitization of wholesale sales, directly supporting the Director's vision for the channel.

Collaborative Planning: Identify opportunities for sales from contribut insights to the product roadmap.

Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer feedback from the territory, providing valuable insights to the Director to inform strategy and platform enhancements.

Broker Collaboration (if applicable): Collaborate with external brokers to support and facilitate sales within your territory, ensuring smooth operations and maximizing joint success under the Director’s management.

Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast sales, track performance against targets, and provide regular, detailed reports on sales activities, market insights, and account status to the Director.

Tastings & Events: Organize and conduct professional wine tastings, educational sessions, and participate in industry events to showcase our portfolio and build brand awareness.

Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional pre- and post-sale support, addressing any client concerns or issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a seamless experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $65,000 annually

Direct Sales Commission: Earn 5% of gross profit less commissions on all direct sales you generate.

Broker Sales Commission: Receive 1% of gross profit (after broker commission) on sales that occur under your management through broker partnerships.

Digital Conversion Bonus: Continue to earn your commission on accounts that you successfully convert to ordering via our SMS and email digital platforms, recognizing your foresight in driving modern sales channels.

What You’ll Bring:
Proven Sales Experience: 4+ years of successful outside sales experience, preferably within the wine, spirits, or beverage industry, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Southern California Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the on-premise and off-premise landscape within the Southern California territory, including key accounts and trends.

Wine Acumen: Genuine passion for wine with in-depth knowledge of different wine regions, varietals, production processes, and current wine trends. WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, CWS, or other wine-related certifications are a plus.

Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex product information clearly and persuasively.

Negotiation & Closing Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively, overcome objections, and close sales.

Digital Agility: Comfort with digital platforms, a willingness to champion new technologies (like SMS/email ordering), and an understanding of how technology can disrupt t
