Job Summary:

As a key member of our operations team, you'll play a vital role in the efficient and safe transportation of materials and equipment to our construction sites. This position requires a skilled driver with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. You'll be operating a variety of heavy-duty trucks, contributing directly to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Safe and Efficient Operation: Operate commercial vehicles, including end dumps, dump trucks, water trucks, and lowboy trailers, on public highways and construction job sites. Proper endorsements for all commercial trucks are required.
  • Material Transport: Haul diverse construction materials such as aggregates, sand, concrete, and hot-mix asphalt to active work zones, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Equipment Transport: Safely transport heavy construction equipment to and from job sites using lowboy and goose neck trailers.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle. These inspections must be a minimum of 30 minutes each to ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Be sure to report all maintenance needs you identify during the process or by the end of the workday at the latest.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: As part of your daily duties, you’ll be responsible for vehicle maintenance. This involves checking all fluids and cleaning the vehicles, including removing all trash from the trucks and equipment, to ensure they remain in optimal condition.
  • Load Securement: Properly secure loads to prevent shifting or accidents during transport, adhering to all DOT regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and other relevant information. Paperwork needs to be turned in daily, with NO exceptions.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with  foremen , operations managers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies, including DOT regulations, hours of service, and vehicle inspections.
  • Timekeeping: You are responsible for accurate timekeeping. Verify your start/travel/project/ travel and end time in the bamboo HR and Pantera app.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman, operations manager, or designated personnel.
  • If a job is completed early, you must notify your supervisor for additional work assignments before the end of the day. Do not leave for the day without authorization.
  • Use of cell phones is strictly prohibited while operating a company vehicle. This includes texting and taking or making calls. Hands-free devices with a phone mount and Bluetooth are permitted.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) with air brake endorsement.
  • Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks in construction or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on diverse terrain.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Experience hauling heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Current Medical Card
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire driving test
  • Requires an excellent driving record, approved by our insurance, and a dedication to safe driving practices.
  • OSHA 10 Certification
