Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Property Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of property-level accounting, and supporting property managers and ownership with timely financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of property operations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations (including cash, assets, and liabilities) and perform analytical reviews of operational information such as expense classification and budget adherence. + Post journal entries to ensure monthly financial statements are accurate and complete. + Provide timely and accurate financial information to property managers and ownership on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. + Assist with the preparation of annual and monthly budgets for assigned properties and related entities. + Compile and prepare annual financial information for external audit and tax preparers to ensure timely filing of all required returns. + Review expense and revenue classifications for each property to ensure accuracy and consistency. + Monitor cash balances to ensure the timely payment of all liabilities, including mortgages and other financial obligations. + Support financing and refinancing activities by preparing lender reporting and ensuring compliance with lender requirements. + Prepare replacement reserve draw requests and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained. + Record and maintain fixed assets on a quarterly basis. + Review job cost invoices and postings for accuracy and alignment with project budgets. + Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned by management. Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 2+ years of accounting experience; property or real estate accounting preferred. + Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. + Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. + Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. + Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
